Re: INTERVIEW: Dave Rowntree (Part 1)

Love the interview, you asked good questions. Dave was matter-of-fact as always (that's why we love him). If possible, I'd like to know a little more about what parts of the Hong Kong sessions were used for the final mix. Did Dave have to re-do his drum parts, or were those flown in from the HK trac...

Re: Blur on French TV: La Musicale & Le Grand Journal, Apr 2

The Circus & HalliGalli show Blur are doing today looks....really weird.

On the plus side, it looks like recent shows are uploaded in their entirety on the show's official website. Not sure about livestreaming options, though.

Re: "Hit" Or "Miss"?

Hit!

I actually love the "Passengers" album, but then I'm a pretty big fan of U2's 90s stuff in general.

How 'bout this:

Wow, that performance of Go Out was really, really good. Better than the Beats version, I think.

I missed the first half of MTH (curse my terracotta bladder), but the second half sounded great. Definitely like it more after a second listen.

But this Almond guy is no good, huh.

It will now be referred to exclusively as the "Ong Ong face."

It does kind of look like Graham's going "ong!"

Re: Blur live on Later With Jools Holland on April 14 & 17

After fiddling with proxies for way longer than I should've, finally got to see the two songs. I Broadcast really is great. Reminds me of MLIR - almost Coping-esque! I suspect that Ong Ong , like Mr. Tembo before it, will be a fun song at concerts. It's an atypically sunny song for Blur, I think - w...

Re: New RS blurb: "Will Blur Tour the U.S. Again?"

I don't know if the demand for Blur in the US is huge, but I do know that my demand for Blur is through the goddamn roof. I can understand Damon's hesitation about coming over, and maybe he wasn't too impressed with his shows with The Heavy Seas (I'm not sure what the turnout was for those shows). B...

Re: Poll: Did you buy the 21 box?

I owned all of Blur's albums except Leisure on CD, but no B-sides, so the 21 Box was a no-brainer.

I loved hearing all the albums again with their assorted B-sides. And the exclusive bonus tracks contain some gems, I think.

Re: "Hit" Or "Miss"?

I'll say hit!

Alice in Chains is one of those bands that I always think I should listen to more often. I've always respected Cantrell as a guitarist and backing vocalist.

Alright, how about this?

Re: Favorite tracks: Parklife

For as long as I can remember This Is A Low has been my favourite Blur song. Now it seems too fast. Has this happened to anyone else? The Brits live version was a bit slower, and Damon's Maida Vale version a lot slower still. I can't hear the studio version now without wishing it had a slower tempo...

My picks: Ambulance Out of Time Caravan On the Way to the Club Sweet Song Lots of songs I would like to have picked, especially Good Song and Battery in Your Leg. The first five songs (excluding Crazy Beat) are just so strong. And I really think Caravan is one of Damon's great sad songs. To me, it f...
