Recently played it again. Like it much better than I'd remembered. It's just more of a "background music" type album than anything previously. I still can't decide which of the 4 main Gorillaz albums I love the best...they're all so different but real works of art

It's infuriating the way he works and has done since about The Fall, but what can you do? (He needs to get rid of all this African stuff too... i never got the love for ambulance. it's good! but it's easily my least favourite opener.

not a bad album though yeah, i just listened to it and i'm always surprised by how much i do like it, even crazy beat and gene x gene (which seem to be universally hated by everyone)

until the Magic Whip for me it was always the most consistently good album from start to finish, with some GREAT songs! the universal is one of the greatest things to happen ever
