Re: Lonesome Street

Wowwwwww I know I'm going to be pretty much the only one saying it but that song does absolutely NOTHING for me. I didn't even get to the end before I turned it off??? Other two are much better. Go Out makes me play stabby angry air guitar whenever I hear it. This just made me shrug. I'm with you o...

Listened to it through once.

Have to say, it sounds amazing!!I have no doubt this will be one of their best albums, if not the best!

Re: NEW ALBUM: The Magic Whip

I'm very impressed with the amount of times Graham was allocated vocals in the live show! I hope this is consistent with the album :D Well, seeing as it was Graham who pulled this thing together in the studio, it would make perfect sense that he is more to the fore than usual. I too hope the record...

Re: There Are Too Many Of Us

I was hoping to see its April 1st on the calender after hearing this. Unfortunately, it seems this is actually a new Blur track. As well as being excited about the new album, I did also worry that we might get something way below the bar they've previously set. This is worse than Crazy Beat. At lea...

Re: 13 turns 16!!

I hate Crazy Beat, dreadful song, but could possibly be topped by Gene-by-Gene. Thank god they didn't get Fatboy Slim to produce The Magic Whip! Looking back Think Tank got very generous reviews, it really was under-developed. Anyway 13 has been my favourite Blur album for a very long time. It was a...

Re: NEW ALBUM: The Magic Whip

I think I prefer stereotypes to she's so high Blur have always had great opening tracks. I really enjoy Stereotypes, but I love She's so high, expecially after 2009. My least favourite opener is Tender and I can totally live without it, except live of course! :D 1. Beetlebum 2. For Tomorrow 3. Girl...

Re: NEW ALBUM: The Magic Whip

Although that person seems very under-whelmed by the album, the one thing I'm pleased about is their vibe that it isn't an instantly loveable album. Very few of the best albums are instant; they reveal themselves more as you listen to them, best example being 13.

I'm hoping the album is quite dark.

Re: Best Album Singles

Best single will always be Beetlebum for me, but didn't go for Blur as I really don't care for Somg 2 anymore and MOR was a bit well MOR. So I went for the The Great Escape, I really enjoy all of the singles off that album, even Country House. All the other albums have at least one single that I dom...

Re: Splitting the Blur forum?

Keep it as it is. I enjoyed ranking Graham's solo albums, I doubt I would have went in to another section and seen it.

It's great having different topics appearing plus the main two at the top regularly posted in.

Good forum Veikko! No need for change!!

Re: The Magic Whip Tour

Saw Supergrass on their farewell tour. Fantastic gig, played songs from each album but worked backwards from their most recent to the first album, sensible!

I love the first 3 albums, but went a bit down hill after that.

Dream support acts:

Supergrass
Super Furry Animals
The Horrors! :-)
