Re: Favorite tracks: 13

My favourite album, this was tough!!!

In no particular order:

Battle
Swamp song
Mellow song
Trimm Trabb
1992

I could have picked anything apart from Tender off this album and I include Optigan 1 in that as I think it ends the album perfectly.

Re: Lonesome Street

How to ruin a great song ? The Lonesome Street video is the best example ! It´s ever worst than Go Out . thats hilarious! why do you watch videos? do you really need to? i haven't watched it and i never will...way to not ruin anything! think on... True, I don't think a bad video can ruin a good son...

Re: Lonesome Street

I think the video is ok, I just don't like the song! It really hasn't grown on me at all, in fact I find it a bit boring/annoying. I don't really have the desire for new Blur songs of that ilk anymore. I thought it sounded better live though. It is the only song that I feel this way about though, th...

Well, they were right.
Seconded! Great album, very under-rated. (Except by Q! :-))

Re: Me White Noise vs. Crazy Beat on Think Tank

Crazy Beat, Gene by Gene and MPRBC replaced by Me White Noise, Some Glad Morning and THe Outsiders would have produced a much more cohesive piece of work. I detest Crazy Beat and Gene by Gene, probably my two least favourite Blur songs. What's the problem with GbG? I fuckin' love that one! :P I jus...

Agreed, although I really like Hours too, always bugs me when they tie in his 90s output with his 80s output, no comparison!

Re: Supergrass Thread

I love the first 3 albums, after that I think it went further downhill with each subsequent album. Saw them on their farewell tour, was a fantastic gig. Played 3 songs from each album had screens with the news at that time on. They obviously started with the most recent and worked back to ensure the...

Re: Favorite tracks: Leisure

Well having seen the results I voted for the 5 most popular songs.

She's so high
Bang
Sing
There's no other way
Wear me down

I also really like Fool and Bad Day.

As others others have mentioned, it could have been a very good album if they had swapped the weaker songs for the stronger b-sides.

Re: Radiohead

Radiohead used to be in my top tier of bands. When the Bends, OK Computer, and Kid A came out, they blew me away. But it's been diminishing returns ever since, apart from In Rainbows, which was as great as their earlier stuff. In my view, they got fat, happy, and complacent after the massive succes...

Re: The Magic Whip Reviews

Oh and by the way I love Mr Robinsons Quango :) Likewise, great song and the outro is amazing. I would say the problem with The Great Escape is more songs like Ernold Same and Topman. I love the album though! We take top man and put no monsters in me, replace ernold same with ultranol and tame, the...

Re: R.E.M. Thread

Up there with Blur as my favourite band. I don't think any of their albums this side of the millenium are anywhere near as good as their 80s and 90s output, I include the over-hyped Accelerate in that. The run from Automatic to UP are probably my favourites, with Up taking the title of best, althoug...
