Re: NEW ALBUM: The Magic Whip

Studio version of My Terracotta Heart is beautiful, love it. Although some things seem to have been a bit last minute, I have to say I think the promotion of the album has been pretty good. They are doing different things and covering a lot of angles, ok the promo videos for the songs are not the be...

Re: Blur live on Later With Jools Holland on April 14 & 17

Having watched last nights show, have to say the performances were fantastic, especially Go out!

Don't know what I was moaning about on Tuesday because Ong Ong sounded brilliant this time!

Love the fact they are playing such a variety of songs off the album.

This album is going to be so good!

Re: The Worst Of

6 music is a great station, I don't see a problem with this at all. As others have mentioned it is good exposure for the band and might get a few more people to buy the album when they hear a track they like throughout the day. If you don't want to listen then don't. I probably won't listen either b...

This has to be the answer. There was surely no time for Blur while Damon was busy selling 4 million records.
I think it was more like double that it sold?

Re: Blur 2005 - What Actually Happened?

I always wanted to hear a completed version of subspecies of an American day, had great potential! Although gutted at the time, it was probably best that nothing emerged, I can't imagine the 3 of them doing punk would be very good. 100% would need Graham as Crazy beat and we've got a file on you pro...

Re: The Worst Of

Only putting songs that I activeky dislike, I'm not going to make 14 using just album tracks, but here goes.... 1. Ernold Same 2. Crazy beat 3. Gene by gene 4. Villa Rosie 5. Bank holiday 6. Magic America Nothing from leisure because although there is some poor songs, I like the naivety of some of t...

Re: Blur live on Later With Jools Holland on April 14 & 17

if were getting 4 other songs on friday im hoping Pyongyang Ghostship Lonesome Street Trouble In The Message Centre It won't be four other songs. Friday is just an extended version of Tuesday's. So we will get I Broadcast and Ong Ong again and hopefully two more. I'd imagine one will be Lonesome St...

Juts hearing it on 6 Music, I think I definitely prefer the radio edit of the song.

Re: Blur live on Later With Jools Holland on April 14 & 17

I think there's absolutely nothing wrong with Ong Ong. Blur always had a goog mixture of arty, experimental stuff, punk/guitar-driven songs and great pop tunes - that mixture represents the class of Blur. Apart from that, Ong Ong is terrific anyway. Still, my fave tracks are Ice Cream Man and My Te...

Re: The Magic Whip Tour

I'd be very surprised if Glastonbury had 3 American headliners. Likewise I'd be even more surprised if Blur were allowed to headline when they're already doing Isle of Wight festival. Didn't Dave say Glasto is not happening? Or has there been other rumours to the contrary? Rumours that third headli...

Re: The Magic Whip Tour

@Daysleeper so is it just popstars you don't wanna see at Glastonbury? Are you opposed to electronic acts and hip hop acts for example? (Not trying to start an argument here by the way, just curious!) :) Yeah I love a lot of electronic acts, just not manufactured pop acts. It's just a personal opin...

100%.

Guitar and bass are fantastic in I Broadcast. Could be my favourite Blur punk thrash song. Definately ahead of Chinese Bombs and BLUREMI at the moment!
