Re: Gorillaz - Phase 4?
Kendrick would be huge, and he's shown that he's not above collaborating or at least not taking himself too seriously with that Taylor Swift Bad Blood collaboration. I think MIA's a good shout - rap but also left field. Obviously would not complain at either Bowie or McCartney but part of me thinks ...

Re: Arcade Fire
I really, really liked Reflektor. It's got its detractors but I think that's inevitable for a band of AF's stature, particularly when there's a noticeable change in sound. It's probably my second favourite, behind Funeral. I think Regine's great - I love her voice. Haiti is up there with my favourit...

Re: Gorillaz - Phase 4?
New artist, sounds a bit like Jamie T or The Maccabees if either of those reference points help you! Not a massive fan, but still nice to see Damon engaging with up and coming artists.101reykjavik wrote:I'm intrigued. Ratboy, you say? Never heard of the fella.

Re: Arcade Fire
Yeah I'd like to see Get Right appear at some point. Interesting that you think Neon Bible is their best album; it's my least favourite of theirs (though I love AF so still like this album a lot!). Having said that, I think songs like Keep the Car Running, Ocean of Noise and Intervention are up ther...

Re: Gorillaz - Phase 4?
Rat boy is an absolutely shite musician, hope he's not on the next gorillaz lp I do wish you wouldn't sit on the fence so often ;) In all seriousness, exciting news. On Ratboy's Twitter there's a selfie which looks like it was taken in his bedroom with a Magic Whip poster in the background, maybe a...

^thanks for all the suggestions guys.
I'd always thought the Oasis cover was a bit odd! Maybe in America Wonderwall's not as ubiquitous as it is here...

Re: Ryan Adams
I've only heard the odd scatterings of tracks, like the one(s) he played on Jools last year, but his massive discography is kinda off-putting. Which albums would you recommend first?

Re: PEACE and Wolf Alice ("indie")
Being from Birmingham and being vaguely into guitar music it's practically compulsory to like Peace, Swim Deep, Jaws et al but I would echo those comments about the second album being pretty shit. I've seen them loads of times (in fact they are the band I've seen most, six times so far...) and I did...

Re: Tame Impala Thread
Really fucking excited for this, but decided to avoid any leaks/streams as I'm waiting to sit down and listen to it properly on Friday on vinyl (yes, I'm being that guy

Yep can't see the love.Vern wrote:Don't see what the appeal of the 13 cover is. It's simply not that great at all.
I love Graham, but he should stick to music rather than art.
Went for Parklife - it's pretty iconic now.
