Re: The Jaded Hearts Club

the version of "Reach Out (I'll Be There)" is pretty awesome...great song and their version is pretty cool. I think this is a fun way to bring back some great songs into our consciousness.

Re: All We Want in 13.

I thought All We Want was originally in the track list and then was replaced with Swamp Song because it fit better.

Re: Gorillaz - Song Machine

I think The Now Now got a lot of uncalled shtick. It was obviously something in the line of The Fall. That being said, I think it could have been better produced. For instance, Tranz is a fantastic song that suffers a lot from very minimalistic production. Take the live version, it has so much ener...

Re: new Gorillaz film - Reject False Icons

Not a parent here, but would guess it is not 6 year old appropriate.

Will be interesting to see the director's cut to compare it. I think it is different than Bananaz. Bananaz had more explanation than Icons. Icons definitely had better concert footage though, some awesome performances in that.

Re: new Gorillaz film - Reject False Icons

Just back from seeing it. Both my wife and I agreed that it could have been so much better and it was probably too ambitious/sprawling. As such, it didn't really have a cohesive story. It was just a linear journal of recording, touring, recording, and touring without any real insights, etc. They had...

Re: "The End of the F***ing World" - full soundtrack album

Listening to it now (iTunes download). So far, lots of similarities to the first soundtrack. I haven't heard anything that really jumps out like "She Left the Light On" or "Walking All Day", but still working my way through it. Early impressions are it's solid with a lot of variety in style and it i...

Re: Likelihood of a Blur tour soon.

I heard last year when GC was touring the US to expect a surprise this Fall and maybe see GC back in the US at some point. Not sure if it will come to fruition though.

Re: Happiness in Magazines turns 15

This is one of the best Blur or Blur-member related albums ever released. After 4 solo albums that were decidedly lo-fi, GC blew us all away on this one and even was showing off his guitar playing skills...it's easy to forget now how rare it was for Graham to just flat out shred before this came out...

Re: BLUR LIVE @ Africa Express: The Circus!

I think there is a 50-50 chance we get some kind of release this year. Last year when Graham was touring the states, I heard some nuggets about something happening this autumn and the way it was shared I interpreted it as either 1) new blur album or 2) new graham album. But it was super vague for ob...

Re: Graham's solo tour 2018-2019

Any info/updates on the SXSW show? Set lists, videos, etc. I haven't seen or heard much of anything.

Also, anyone know what Graham was working on in Santa Monica?

Re: Graham's solo tour 2018

He started Rednecks a little bit in DC, then said he couldn't remember, but definitely rocked it at Bowery. No Rednecks in Brooklyn, but he did move Baby You're Out Of Your Mind to the #3 position in the setlist. He also added the Chas n Dave cover to the beginning of the encore even though it wasn'...

Btw, I have an extra ticket to tonight's Bowery Ballroom show if anyone is interested. Just try to catch me on here relatively soon and we can make a plan.

Re: Graham's solo tour 2018

Almost the same setlist tonight in DC, but Graham added a song to open the encore before In the Morning in honor of Chas whom he tweeted about passing recently. I didn't recognize the tune, but I believe it was the Chas & Dave song "Ain't No Pleasing You" based on a quick Google of the lyrics I reme...

Re: Orbit's Under the Westway

Um, heck yeah, the Billy Orbit version is way better than the final version ... even Graham admitted somewhere that he secretly likes the version better. It's just loaded with awesome/insane guitars and pianos plus the middle parts are perfect. The only knock is the lyrics are better/finished on the...
