Re: Graham in the studio with Duran Duran...

Yes good points Sledge Hammer, and as you suggest, Wham! and Culture Club were not all bad but their songs are more rooted in that time.

Re: Graham in the studio with Duran Duran...

The glossiness surrounding the 'Rio' album (videos, fashions etc) overshadowed the fact that it was a very good album.

Re: Crushed Beaks - 90's Blur in 2019

The first track sounds somewhere between Julian Cope and U2, with a bit of shoegazing thrown in.

The second track definitely sounds like a Damon vocal, but with a late-80s production :? :)

Re: Inhaler

Very reminiscent of earlier U2. There could be many worse influences.

Re: Graham in the studio with Duran Duran...

That gig sounds very good. 1993 was a credible time for Blur to support Duran Duran.

I saw this photo months ago. On the other hand - the older this picture is, the closer we are to the actual release :-)

That is mixed fortunes Louie, but you were able to get to the UK and establish contact with them :)

Yes, I played the album quite a lot at the time. It brought a run of good hit singles as well.

Denny Laine can be under-rated in the wider scheme of things.

Re: Battle of Britpop: Stereotypes vs Roll With It

I prefer 'Stereotypes' to 'Roll With It' though I think the general audience may have chosen the latter. I certainly preferred 'Country House' to 'Roll With It'.

I loved his album 'Version' (2007). Played it a lot at the time.
