No you are not doing it wrong, life really does get a lot harder. Or at least for me it has. Maybe we're both doing it wrong. :)
Well that sucks for both of us.

Re: What pisses you off at the moment?

I think I've mentioned it before on here but I've been suffering from insomnia. It's a result from a whole host of things but mostly my tinitus. I forgot I posted this, but I've been off the caffeine for about 6 months now and the clarity in my thoughts are overwhelming. Most of my troubles have go...

Re: What pisses you off at the moment?

I'm almost certainly not the first to say this, but I'm throwing the NRA out there. Why on earth is it in America that the right to own a gun is seen as a more important right than the right not be shot? I love America wholeheartedly having lived there for 9 months and gone back on holiday/vacation...

Re: New release: Live at the BBC

I don't think Parklife 'celebrates' Britain. If anything, it's a critical observation of British social routines and cultures. It hardly screams "Britain is great". That's true. Damon's an artist he writes what he sees, Parklife was his take on Britain in 1993/94 and Merrie Land is of current Brita...

Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?

Yes I'm more of a lurker now, I try and check it once a day but there's obviously not much movement with the band being dormant.

I've just had to pull out of a house purchase and now i'm trying to buy another one, working hard as ever. Life gets harder not easier, or maybe i'm just doing it wrong.

I don't think the song choice really mattered.

Re: TGTBTQ: Merrie Land Album Thread

Only in vinyl form. In record shops. I bought Sleeper's two 7" releases on coloured vinyl in my local record shop on Cowley Road. I was hoping TGTB&TQ would do the same as with gorillaz last year. Sadly not. To me it's not an issue but clearly it is for other people. Having said that it is nice to ...

Re: TGTBTQ: Merrie Land Album Thread

Do singles really exist anymore? I know in the 90's it was typical of having a lead single followed by 2-3 more singles over the course of the year. The artists I listen to either drop the whole album all at once or release songs as and when they make them and overtime this then becomes a collection...

They are really going heavy on this 25 year anniversary thing.

Anyway here's a quiz if you want to try it. Tougher than I thought I only got 17/25.

I think the person who curated this list probably looks for the emotive value in songs above all else.
Yes I think you might be right, OTWTTC sounds like quite a simple song (but has the potential to catch a chord emotionally).

Re: Top 10 Blur songs (from Stereogum)

These things are obviously always subjective but I think people just pick left field songs to make themselves look/feel a bit more special (I've probably done it in the past).
