Re: Graham on Phil Taggart's slacker podcast

I listened, Graham is really good on this thank you. Lots of interesting stuff for anyone here. I agree Phil himself isn't a great interviewer. He admits to not preparing very well. Seems almost lazy. He seems to have interviewed quite a few interesting people though!

Re: Superstate by Graham Coxon

2) Fans are annoyed there are almost no reviews of the record so far. But isn´t this also task of the management - being in touch with major publications/asking relevant people to review the bloody thing? If for example Anthony Fantano was in position to interview Damon exclusively about Song Machi...

Re: Superstate by Graham Coxon

I've listened once so far, some great and surprising stuff. Yoga Town has really grown on me. Tommy Gunn reminds me somewhat of "Resigned", which is a good thing. Will need to give it a few more listens.

Re: Gorillaz - Carnival EP

Why would Damon care what the audience wants? Because the audience in the streaming age is what makes projects feasible. The fewer streams, the less the revenue. Gorillaz is an expensive concept, from the guest appearances, which costs both fees and a split of royalties, to Jamie's side of the proj...

Re: Graham in the studio with Duran Duran...

Were they miming? If not, Graham's playing was pretty incredible. I should not really be surprised by that. mmm - not sure if it was live - the backing singer's sighs seemed over crisp to me! Anyway, good fun all round and nice to see Graham enjoying himself :) And I wonder how Alex feels about all...

Not sure if I can be bothered going to Edinburgh Park on a "school night". I can see the Festival wanted an outdoor venue, but it's neither in Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Re: How To Dress like Damon Albarn

As a wee follow up, can anyone ID the sunglasses Damon was wearing at Glastonury? It was a good look. I even like the mullet, it's a statement hahahaha

Re: Damon Albarn - The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows

Thought Damon was great, hushed, magical. There was some new material (I don't recognise the "The nearer the mountain" stuff, haven't listened to it yet) and also Lonely Press Play, The Poison Tree (dedicated to Tony Allen), Apple Carts, On Melancholy Hill, Out of Time, and This is a Low. Mike Smith...

Graham on the Blank podcast

https://play.acast.com/s/theblankpodcast/tag%3Aaudioboom.com%2C2021-04-12%3A%2Fposts%2F7842397 Something made me think of looking up podcasts to see if there were any recent Graham ones. And oddly enought thre's a brand new one with the Blank guys. They go on about how nice Graham was. There's quite...

Damon talking to ITV about the Glastonbury live stream

https://www.itv.com/news/2021-05-20/i-o ... burys-cows

Does anyone know what sort of set Damon is going to do? Is it going to be a best of, like his solo shows of 2014?

Re: Alex James' "The Big Feastival" - has anybody attended?

That was a nice read thank you. He is a good guy. There is zero chance of all of them being at Feastival or performing, but it's good hype from him, no harm in it.

Re: gorillaz do Fred Perry

The thought of Gorillaz teaming up with Fred Perry is utterly miserable. What a shame - ah well. Why is this miserable? Damon has worn Fred Perry for years. If some Trump supporting idiots want to wear a specific type of Fred Perry polo shirt, theres nothing the brand can do about that. Re NFTs, Go...

Alex James' "The Big Feastival" - has anybody attended?

https://thebigfeastival.com/feastival-from-the-farm-the-movie Alex looks to have out on a bit (a lot) of weight in lockdown. I was vaguely aware he ran a festival with Jamie Oliver but I didn't know it had become an annual thing. It really doesn't look like my cup of tea at all, but fair play if he ...

Great interview with Mike Smith

Superb interview with Blur and Gorillaz musical director Mike Smith on The Stage Left Podcast. I don't really understand the stuff about being able to recover a song live if someone (eg Shaun Ryder :D ) comes in too early. But it sounds like he has worked hard to make Gorillaz the very slick live ma...
