Re: Gorillaz dream Collaborations

Heh a quick google and it looks like there's some quotes from each other but it is odd that they haven't crossed paths more publicly. Looks like Damon attacked Radiohead's touring for one reason or another in 2006 but the original quote comes from "The Sun" so it's probably a load of rubbish Althou...

Re: GORILLAZ ALBUMZ RANKED

I want to talk about Momentary Bliss for a second. Could almost be a mid-90's Blur song, minus the rap and the band instead of beats. The melody and general feel is very Britpop in my opinion. I love it. Yeah it's got a parklife albumy / clash feel to parts of it See I was originally thinking The S...

Re: GORILLAZ ALBUMZ RANKED

Yes. :P In all seriousness though, I get why some people might like it. But BETTER than Demon Days aka Damon's best ever album? No. Well, yes, it is for me. It's not for you. It's called difference of opinion. Ever heard of it? At the risk of being a bit too reductionist, Demon Days is basically in...

Re: GORILLAZ ALBUMZ RANKED

I guess it fits in the paradox of both being underrated and overrated because the underratedness of it become overrated like donnie darko or park ji sung Just wanted to say I enjoyed those comparisons a lot (although I rate both of those examples and PB, so I'm not sure what that says about me haha)

Re: Gorillaz - Song Machine

I got a pretty quick reply from Warner, who said they haven't received the amount of stock they expected to and that I'll get an email when it's sent out to me. Seems odd given I've basically had that email already, but I'll take it at face value.

Re: GORILLAZ ALBUMZ RANKED

Wow people rating Plastic Beach pretty well, I have to say even though I think it's a good album it was a damp squib when compared to the success of the first two albums I can understand this thinking when talking about chart positioning, or how an album is received in general, but I can't ever ima...

Re: Gorillaz - Song Machine

Sorry to hear guys. My experiences of online ordering have been good and bad :) :( Like many here I ordered the Almanac + CD + circle of friends back in May when it was first announced. The circle thing has operated well - I've signed up for the live stream next month, and I nabbed O2 tickets last ...

Re: GORILLAZ ALBUMZ RANKED

Truly overrated, always thought so. A handful of solid songs like Some Kind Of Nature but as a whole, very disappointing. Especially after Demon Days. Easily the best Gorillaz album. Not a single bad song. Lush, colourful production. Extremely catchy tunes. Fantastic incorporation of synths that gi...

Re: Superstate by Graham Coxon

There are 9 Graham Coxon songs on Spotify that hit 1 milion listens mark. 7 out of those 9 are from soundtracks. Another comparation is maybe even more revealing: his most popular song on Spotify, "Walking All Day" from first season of The End Of The Fucking World", has 7.5 milion listens. "Freakin...

Re: Superstate by Graham Coxon

Why can't he just put out a normal solo album? All this soundtrack, shitey superband, and novelty stuff does is uninspire me. I have no idea what, if anything has changed, nor can I claim to know how accurate this is, think it's an impression I got from here, but after releasing A&E GC said he had ...

Re: Superstate by Graham Coxon

I think (hope) that the music will be available separately in some form. Yes I'm thinking you are right. Feeling a bit stung financially on the Gorillaz release (what with them having discounted the album to half price before I received my pre-release order) has got me way of pre-ordering anything ...

Re: Superstate by Graham Coxon

Looks like a cool project, not sure I can persuade myself to part with enough money to buy the music though, as it seems that's only available as the limited bundles, but the story/comic looks reasonably cool as someone with a passing interest in sci-fi, comics/graphic novels a little less so.

Re: Gorillaz - Song Machine

Now a collaboration with Tame Impala I could definitely get excited about, not sure if it was pre-SM Stephen, but there was talk of it before for sure.
