Re: "The End of the F***ing World" - full soundtrack album

Listening to it now (iTunes download). So far, lots of similarities to the first soundtrack. I haven't heard anything that really jumps out like "She Left the Light On" or "Walking All Day", but still working my way through it. Early impressions are it's solid with a lot of variety in style and it ...

Re: Dr Dee, underappreciated?

I do think it could be a bit underappreciated. I think Apple Carts and O Spirit Animate Us are amazing tunes. Very haunting and beautiful. However, I am not sure I consider it a true solo album, per se, as I view Everyday Robots as Damon's official solo debut. Of course, there is an argument for Dr....

Chemical World is class, agree with everything else though :D
Yes! Chemical World is one of my favorite blur song. Timeless riff, classic pop tune, and a fun music video for it.

And Bang may be a shit single... but I still really like it :P

Re: time for a blur career spanning best of...

Perhaps after a new blur album it would be worth making a new one. But yeah, for now Midlife and the Best of have it pretty covered. I'd want a compilation album that (similar to Midlife) didn't just include singles.

Also, welcome to the forum redsalmon :)

Re: TGTBTQ: Merrie Land Live Performances Thread

Really love that version. Damon and his melodica with slow dub beats is something I love a lot about the early days of Gorillaz. Paul told rich when we met him that he was trying to get it on the setlist - looks like it finally worked! I wish this tour weren't coming to an end so soon. They are so s...

Re: New release: Live at the BBC

I would be sooo down for that. I know Parklife is the definitive, focused masterpiece out of the 2, but I actually find TGE much more intriguing and the one I go back to more. Parklife is more consistent but I prefer TGE'S best moments over parklife's. Yeah, that's actually a really cool thought. S...

Re: Damon Albarn - The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows

I'm so confused by this project. Damon hasn't even gotten closed to finishing it yet (maybe hasn't even written it at all??) yet it's already selling out some seemingly prestigious venues. No doubt Damon has a big draw, and I trust him and his crazy time management - especially after getting TNN and...

Re: TGTBTQ: Merrie Land Album Thread

Eleven may not be as bad as we think, they could just be an easy target. And yes, Gorillaz was handled brilliantly. Absolutely massive for the past 2 years. I wonder how much of that has to do with Jamie or some of his folks? I’m not even sure who that’d be, but Gorillaz has had a very active social...

He is chatty! What did he have to say about psychedelics? Has he done acid recently? And thanks again for Norwich rich — what a great time! Delighted to hear that the choir will be in London. Tonight I’m headed to see them in Liverpool. May try to get damon to sign something this time if I run...

Re: BLUR LIVE @ Africa Express: The Circus!

Oh yes, any sighting of them together, especially on stage, gives me hope! Again, they seemed so happy, and you know they all enjoy playing those songs together. I think that was evident during TMW tour too. So to think they’ll do something together again (and hopefully soon) isn’t the most unrealis...

Re: BLUR LIVE @ Africa Express: The Circus!

Last night was just incredible. I had heard a rumor that blur were reuniniting, but assumed Graham was still in the states so I just shrugged the idea away. From the angle i was at in the front row, I could see all the artists watching from side stage and saw Damon go up and hug Alex and Dave. Then ...

Re: Africa Express: The Circus

Tonight's the night! All of the rehearsal videos I've seen on twitter and instagram are getting me very excited. Gonna be an amazing 5 hours! And then I'm gonna go over to club starshaped for their 25th anniversary celebration of Parklife till 3 am... I may be dead after today :P

Anyone else going?

Re: The return of SLEEPER!

It was great! They had a couple difficulties - drummer was in a car accident (he's okay!) and the keyboardist had a sick child (also ok thankfully!) But they still put on a charming show. You could tell they were having a lot of fun. Louise called it "half-unplugged" ha! And they were super kind at ...
