Opinions on Popscene?

I've been listening to it a good bit recently after taking a short break from Modern Life is Rubbish, and I just love it so much. So energetic, swinging, Damon's singing, the guitar work from Graham, everything! A lot of fun to jam out to, I really wanna learn how to play the bass part. On that note...

Re: Blur's setlists going forward

On the Way to the Club would be great to hear, as well as Oily Water or He Thought of Cars. So many possibilities! :)

Re: Thoughts on the MLIR Daisy Bell and The Strand covers?

(As a bit of a side note, I was relistening to The Great Escape yesterday, and Ernold Same finally broke through to me. Not sure why, just on that listen I think it began to appeal, a bit like how Gorillaz songs are with me. Starts off okay, but the more I listened to it, the more I enjoyed it. Love...

Re: Favourite Blur album

It's always a struggle between the self-titled and Parklife for me. I was gonna say the self-titled now, but then I realized two years ago I had voted for Parklife. Same for me, the self-titled has so many great tracks, but I can't get enough of how diverse and flavorful Parklife is. I love every s...

Re: unpopular blur opinions

I actually really enjoy Yuko and Hiro, Damon's "I never see you" lines and the female vocals in Japanese sound very pleasant and add a slightly melancholy feel to the tune. Overall, I think the vocals sound pretty great, and the instrumental isn't bad either.

Re: I'M MOVING TO THE USA!! (and getting married!)

Thanks everyone! :D I have a bit more news...a month today my fiancé and I are getting married in New York, CENTRAL PARK! This is something that has been in the planning stages for a number of months, having began to think and plan right after we got engaged. Only family and close friends have know...

Pity (or maybe not) that we never got to hear For Old Times Sake. Wasn't the recording wiped?
Wiped or lost, I've heard both. Would be interesting to hear it, if it ever surfaces by some miracle.

Re: Thoughts on the MLIR Daisy Bell and The Strand covers?

They are realy like a drunken fun song, more like an outtake. Daisy Bell always reminds me of the Oasis cover of Slade's "Cum On Feel the Noize". But the live versions, which were played around 1993, are very enjoyable because this song is live very punk like. Yeah, I can definitely see what you me...

Re: "I Got Law"

Agreed, I Got Law and Never Clever are two demos that I just can't stop listening to. I really like the beat to IGL, and the electronic overall sound, glad it resurfaced as Tomorrow Comes Today. Both are excellent, I just wish I could somehow buy Never Clever rather than listening to it on YouTube a...

Thoughts on the MLIR Daisy Bell and The Strand covers?

Since I don't hear much about them at all, I was wondering what the general consensus on the MLIR b-side covers is? I really like both of them, especially Daisy Bell, Damon's singing in it is just wonderful to listen to. I admit, it's a little cheesy with the hokey speaker voice, but that's the char...

Re: unpopular blur opinions

Agreed, Top Man is one of those songs that I can't help but tap and hum along to when I'm busy with something. Fade Away, Top Man, and Mr. Robinson's Quango are probably my top three off of TGE.

Not sure how much of an unpopular opinion this is, but Fade Away is one of my absolute favorite songs from The Great Escape.
