Trivia:
- The album was
recorded in the summer of 2000 in Jamaica and
Damon's 13 studios in London. At the time, reports suggested that
Damon was working on his solo album with producer Dan
the
Automator.
- The album's
first single and the biggest hit "Clint Eastwood"
got its shape quickly: "Essentially, it's made up of
stuff we put together in more or less a day, except
the vocals, and then just tweaked," explained
the engineer Tom
Girling. The initial version of the song featured a rap
by Phi Life and Cypher (could be heard on "Phi Life
Cypher Remix").
- "5/4" was
originally intented to be the album's second single,
but was put off by catchier "19-2000".
- The promo video
for "19-2000" features over 450 sound effects. The
car effect is actually Jamie Hewlett's Pontiac.
- Although not
credited, Kid Koala does the
scratching on the album. Also, as seen in the Bananaz
documentary, Dave Rowntree plays drums on "Punk" and
possibly on some other tracks on the album.
- There are three
samples on the album: "Rock The House" contains
portions from Modesty Blaise film main theme,
"M1 A1" contains
portions from the film Day Of The Dead
and "New
Genious (Brother)" contains portions of "Hit Or
Miss" performed by Bo Diddley.
- Total running time
(UK ver. including hidden track): 63:47
